The South Kerry Greenway
The South Kerry Greenway has taken an exciting step forward, with sections of this long-anticipated route now officially open to the public. Winding through some of the most scenic landscapes in Ireland, the Greenway offers walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of South Kerry at their own pace.
Visitors can already enjoy peaceful journeys through native woodland, past farmland, and alongside dramatic Atlantic vistas. Along the way, there are plenty of places to pause, take in the scenery, and connect with the local environment. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll, a family outing, or a more active cycle, the Greenway provides an experience that is both relaxing and invigorating.
The newly opened routes stretches from Kells Post office (Golden’s of Kells) to old Kells Railway Station showcasing the region’s stunning coastal views, rolling countryside, and rich heritage. And the second part of the Greenway is also open from Curra Road Glenbeigh to Mountain Stage
Built along the route of the former railway line between Glenbeigh and Cahersiveen, while construction continues on additional sections, soon all routes will be connected and be completed joining a vast stretch of breathtaking views like the dingle peninsula etc!
South Kerry Greenway is set to become one of Ireland’s premier outdoor attractions of stunning views.
